PM's K'taka visit not to inaugurate rail link, but for election campaign: Cong.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), [India], October 29 (ANI): Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Congress party for stalling the Karnataka's Bidar-Kalaburgi Rail line work, Congress on Sunday said the former came to the state not for the project but for election campaigning.

Speaking to ANI, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Though he came in the name of participating in the Darshan at Manjunath temple, dashamah soundarya lahari parayanotsava samarpane etc programmes. But, actually he came here to inaugurate the election campaign. He inaugurated one already inaugurated railway line over here in Karnataka. This railway line was completed two-three years back. Only some of its portion was left. He lied in the speech that this project was delayed from long time,"

Kharge further accused Prime Minister Modi of taking the credit of the Congress' project.

"He took the credit that BJP contributed this much and Congress party did nothing in the development of this project. I want to ask him what about the other railway lines that Congress party made and inaugurated. Has he ever given credit to our party for the same?," he asked.

The Congress leader further questioned Prime Minister Modi about some promises he made to the people of the country, adding that he can't befool masses for a long period of time.

"He is not implementing any of his promises. What about employment opportunities of youth? Where is the black money of India? He is expert in giving speeches. Instead of giving 'Rashan' to common people he gives them 'Bashan'. 'Bashan' (speeches) will not fill bellies of poor Indians," he added.

Addressing the public gathering in Bidar, the Prime Minister, earlier in the day, said: "The work which could have been done in three years took 20 years as it was stuck for several years."

He also said Congress party's working culture was only to stall the development work.

"The development projects that were stalled since the Congress rule are being completed now. The Congress' working culture is Atkana (to stall), Latkana (to delay) and Bhatkana (to mislead)," he said. (ANI)
