Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi [India], Oct 4 (ANI): The Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a town hall meet with thousands of IT professionals on October 24.
"There will be a town hall event of the Prime Minister in New Delhi on October 24. Thousands of IT professionals will be present there. Prime Minister will talk to them and to the IT professionals from 12-13 places in the country. Prime Minister Modi will basically enthuse and inspire them to make India's digital story a story of social inclusion," Prasad said.
"The focus area will be social empowerment and social action - CSR convergence for social good," he added.
Prasad, who held a meeting with stakeholders of the IT industry said, "The idea of this meeting emanated from the wish of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister wants the IT industry to work more for the society with coordination and compassion.
He added: "We have given two ideas - from 'me to we' and from 'self to society'. I feel happy to say that the entire IT industry has deeply appreciated it. We believe that they are doing a good job in CSR, but there is a larger need to bring CSR into a common pool for sharing the best practices. We received a lot of suggestions today. One of them was, volunteering by the IT industry for a social cause. We all have decided that we will work together." (ANI)
