New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday said that it was a divine coincidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday coincided with his 100 days in office for the third consecutive term.
Speaking to media persons, Chugh said these hundred days have opened many new horizons for the people of the country and have reaffirmed the prime minister's commitment to the "nation first" ideal that he has followed for the last 10 years.
Describing it as a significant milestone towards the realization of 'Viksit Bharat 2047', Chugh said the prime minister has laid a strong, forward-looking foundation for the nation with epochal decisions.
Further praising his leadership as 'unprecedentedly dynamic'. He also expressed gratitude for Modi's 'visionary' approach, which continues to drive India's 'growth and prosperity'.
"The Modi government's unwavering commitment to national progress, infrastructure development, agricultural reforms, and social welfare has ushered in an era of unprecedented growth," he said.
"I express my heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Modi for his leadership that continues to transform India," Chugh said.
Chugh underscored the Modi government's focus on agriculture, saying that "farmers remain central to the Prime Minister's vision for a self-sustaining India. The recent increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops demonstrates a commitment to ensuring fair prices and improving farmers' incomes. Additionally, the government's removal of the Minimum Export Price (MEP) on onions and basmati rice underlines its dedication to enhancing agricultural exports. Moreover, the disbursement of Rs20,000 crores under the 17th instalment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, benefiting 9.3 crore farmers, has boosted rural livelihoods. These measures reflect Modi's vision of strengthening the agricultural sector."
Chugh also emphasized the government's massive infrastructure projects worth Rs3 lakh crore, including the linking of unconnected villages to road networks, which are transforming rural areas by enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth.
Chugh applauded the significant progress in the defence sector, with an allocation of Rs1.45 lakh crore for defense procurements. "The induction of INS Vikrant into our naval fleet exemplifies India's growing capabilities to protect national interests," he stated. The government has also revised 'One Rank One Pension' to support the welfare of defense personnel while taking a strong stance on 'national security' by combating terrorism and fostering peace in Jammu and Kashmir."
Regarding social welfare, Chugh praised the government for "uplifting millions through its flagship schemes. Under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana', over one crore houses have been sanctioned with a subsidy of Rs 2.30 lakh crore, empowering the middle class and marginalized communities. The expansion of 'Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY)' to cover senior citizens above 70 years has ensured health insurance for 4.5 crore families, significantly improving healthcare access for the elderly," he said.
Focusing on the future workforce, Chugh pointed out that the "government has unveiled a Rs 2 lakh crore package for employment generation and skill development, aiming to benefit over 41 million youth. This initiative promises to enhance the skills of young Indians, offering them internships, vocational training, and job opportunities in technology, industry, and innovation."
Chugh lauded the government's legal reforms, which he said are poised to revolutionize India's justice system. The introduction of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, replacing outdated colonial-era laws, aims to make justice more accessible, effective, and citizen-centric, he said.
Chugh also hailed the government's efforts in the space and technology sectors. "India's space program is witnessing a new dawn with the establishment of a Rs 1,000 crore venture capital fund for space start-ups, positioning the country as a leader in global space exploration," he remarked. (ANI)
