PM Modi virtually inaugurates new manufacturing plant of medical devices at Meril Company in Vapi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple health projects worth over Rs 12,850 crores from the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 29 (ANI): On Shri Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple health projects worth over Rs 12,850 crores from the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.
During this event, PM Modi, joined by Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Kanubhai Desai, the state's Minister of Finance, Energy, and Petrochemicals, inaugurated a new medical device manufacturing plant at Meril Company in Chala, Vapi taluka of Valsad district via video conference.
CM Patel visited 'Meril Park-1' and obtained detailed information about the operations at Meril Company's manufacturing plant, the Cancer Research Center, and advancements in the field of surgical robotics. He also inspected the manufacturing plant for heart valves, stents and cancer research activities.
Additionally, the Chief Minister visited Meril Studio and gathered information about various medical devices being manufactured, such as trauma implants, orthopaedic implants, and India's first robot (Misho) for knee replacement.

CM also inaugurated the 'Merai Data Center' at Meril Academy. The data centre aims to enhance the quality of human life by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to drive a global transformation in the healthcare sector. By utilizing health data, it will facilitate research on new drugs and improve the accuracy of patient treatment and diagnosis. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released books on 'Meril Sankalp' and the impact of climate change on health.
To improve healthcare access for senior citizens, PM Modi has removed the age limit for the Ayushman card for people aged 70 and above, citizens can now obtain the Ayushman card by simply presenting their Aadhaar and ration cards. As part of this initiative, CM Bhupendra Patel presented Ayushman cards to beneficiaries of the PMJAY in Valsad district and also presented e-vaccine certificates.
During this event, the Prime Minister launched the U-WIN portal, which provides information on all types of vaccinations for pregnant mothers and children aged 0 to 16 years, accessible from anywhere in the country. The program also featured screenings of short films highlighting the importance of Ayurveda, pharma sector, and the functionality of the U-WIN portal.
CEO of Meril Company, Vivek Shah, along with Anjum Bilkhiya, provided detailed information to the Chief Minister about the company's initiatives aligned with initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. (ANI)
