PM Modi pays homage to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya on his birth anniversary

PM Modi said the BJP government is "committed" to fulfilling Maharaja's vision for Tripura's progress.

New Delhi [India], August 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid homage to the "great Maharaja" Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur on his birth anniversary and lauded him for his indelible role in the development of Tripura.
PM Modi said the BJP government is "committed" to fulfilling Maharaja's vision for Tripura's progress.
"I pay homage to the great Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur on his birth anniversary. He played an indelible role in the development of Tripura. He devoted his life towards empowering the poor and downtrodden. His welfare measures for the tribal communities are widely respected. Our Government is committed to fulfilling its vision for Tripura's progress," PM Modi wrote on X.


Chief Minister Manik Saha also paid tribute to "the architect of modern Tripura," Maharaja Manikya Bahadur on his 116th birth anniversary.
Taking to the social media platform Facebook, the Chief Minister wrote, "Tribute to a visionary leader! Remembering Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura, on his birth anniversary. His progressive ideas, reforms, and contributions to education, infrastructure, and culture continue to inspire and shape the state's destiny. May his legacy live on forever! #MaharajaBirBikram."
Meanwhile, a two-day celebration of Maharaja's 116th birth anniversary has been organised in the town of Khumulwng in the West Tripura district. The event commenced on Sunday and was jointly organised by the INTACH Tripura Chapter and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is considered the architect of modern Tripura and was most popular for his prudence and contribution to the modern society and system of the state. (ANI)
