Khairthal (Rajasthan), [India], Dec 1 (ANI): Punjab Cabinet Minister and Congress party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is allegedly a "puppet" in the hands of businessmen like 'Adani' and 'Ambani'.
Taking on Prime Minister Modi on Rafale deal, he said that the plane worth Rs 500 crore was bought by the NDA government for Rs 1,600 crore and the margin allegedly went into someone's wallet. He was addressing a poll rally at Khairthal in Rajasthan.
"Rs 500 crore ka plane Rs 1600 crore mein? Rs 1100 crore kiski jeb mein dale, andar ki baat kis ke liye thi? Chowkidar ka kutta bhi chor se mil gaya hai," said Sidhu.
He also slammed Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, saying that "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" is only a "jumla" and women are being raped in the BJP ruled states.
"Rajasthan is number two in terms of rape. As many as 31,000 rapes have taken place here. Madhya Pradesh tops the chart. In Chhattisgarh young girls are being kidnapped and trafficked to Mumbai flesh markets," said Sidhu.
He also claimed that Prime Minister Modi and NDA government have failed to honour their promises. "Nobody received Rs 15 lakh in their account. Two crore jobs are not there. The bullet train is not running. Farmers' loans have not been waived off," said Sidhu.
The 200 member Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections in Rajasthan are due on December 7 to be held in a single phase. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)
