Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 29 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state chief VD Sharma on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave gifts to the women on the eve of Raksha Bandhan by reducing the price of domestic cooking gas.
The Union Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by PM Modi, announced Rs 200 reduction in domestic cooking gas prices.
"On the eve of Rakshabandhan, PM Modi has given gifts to crores of women of the country by reducing gas cylinder prices by Rs 200. I want to thank the prime minister and congratulate him. It is a historic decision. The beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will get a subsidy of Rs 400 (as they are already getting a Rs 200 subsidy),” Sharma said.
The BJP leader further said that everyone would get the benefit of the gas cylinder. Those who did not get Ujjwala Yojana connection would also be identified and would be given the connection under the Yojana.
“The gas cylinder at the rate of Rs 450 would also be made available in Madhya Pradesh. No need to worry about it,” he added.
Notably, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday (August 27) announced that in the month of Sawan, the state government would provide LPG cylinders for Rs 450. After that, he would make permanent arrangements for it.
Meanwhile, the BJP chief also targeted the former CMs and Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh and said that congressmen would work to mislead.
“Congressmen will work to mislead. Nath ate the houses of the people under the housing scheme. Nath and Singh lie and spread illusions. They should answer what they did in the 15 months rule in the state,” he alleged. (ANI)
