New Delhi (India), May 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to former Prime Minister and JDS chief HD Deve Gowda on his birthday.
"I wish you the heartiest wishes on the special day of your birthday. May God bless you with health, happiness and happiest life, also may God give more strength and courage to serve the people of the country in future," said Prime Minister Modi in the letter to the senior leader.
Prime Minister Modi also took to Twitter early morning on Saturday to wish Deve Gowda a happy birthday.
"Best wishes to our former Prime Minister Shri HD Deve Gowda Ji on his birthday. I pray for his long and healthy life (sic)" he tweeted.
Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda, born on May 18, 1933, served as the 11th Prime Minister of India from June 1, 1996 to April 21, 1997. He was previously the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996. Presently, his son HD Kumaraswamy is the Chief Minister of Karnataka. (ANI)
