PM Modi expresses condolences to families of victims in Mirzapur road accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of victims who died in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur on Friday.

New Delhi [India], October 4 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of victims died in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur on Friday.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, "The road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in it. May God give them strength to bear this pain."


On Friday night, ten labourers were killed and three others were injured in a collision between a truck and a tractor that occurred near Katka village in the Kachhwan police station area.
The incident occurred on GT Road at the Mirzamurad Kachhwa border when a truck that had gone out of control hit a tractor from behind, which was carrying 13 people going from Bhadohi district towards Banaras.
All the deceased were labourers travelling on the tractor trolley, returning from Bhadohi to Varanasi after working on roof construction. The labourers were residents of Varanasi's Mirzamurad area.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and sent 3 injured people to Banaras Hindu University (BHU) hospital for treatment.
Prime Minister Modi also wished for the fast recovery of the injured persons involved in the accident.
"Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in helping the victims in every possible way," PM Modi added in his post on X.
Union Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda also condoled the deaths in the accident.
"The news of many people getting killed in a road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. The local administration is engaged in relief and rescue work with full readiness. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured, " he said in a post on X.
The accident occurred at 1 am on Friday morning when a tractor was hit by a truck that had gone out of control.
"At around 1 AM, we received information that an accident had occurred on the GT Road at the Mirzamurad Kachhwa border, in which a tractor carrying 13 people, which was going from Bhadohi district towards Banaras, was hit from behind by a truck that had gone out of control. On receiving this information, we reached the spot and rescue work was started. Out of those 13 people, 10 died and 3 who were injured were immediately sent to BHU for treatment. All these 13 people used to work as labourers in Bhadohi and were returning to their village. FIR is being registered. Further necessary legal action is being taken," Mirzapur Superintendent of Police, Abhinandan said. (ANI)
