PM Modi celebrates Igas festival at residence of BJP MP Anil Banuli

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday celebrated Igas Bagwal festival at the residence of BJP MP Anil Banuli in New Delhi.

New Delhi [India], November 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday celebrated Igas Bagwal festival at the residence of BJP MP Anil Banuli in New Delhi.
Igal Bagwal festival is widely celebrated in Uttarakhand, after 11 days of Diwali. It is also called Budhi Diwali.

PM Modi was wearing a traditional Uttarakhand cap and greeted with Sadhus and Saints present at the residence of Baluni.
On the occasion PM Modi, worshipped the Tulsi plant, lit the Igas flame and performed Aarti.

PM Modi also extended greetings to all the countrymen and wished for happiness, prosperity and well-being.
"Many congratulations to all the countrymen including my family members of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Igas festival! Today in Delhi, I also got the privilege of participating in this festival at the residence of Anil Baluni ji, Lok Sabha MP from Uttarakhand. I wish that this festival brings happiness, prosperity and well-being in everyone's life," PM Modi wrote on X.


Igaas festival honours the Goddess Nanda Devi and celebrates harvest, fertility, and prosperity.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated and wished the people of the state on Igas festival/Old Diwali.
In his message issued on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that our folk culture and tradition are the identity of Devbhoomi. He said that the folk culture and folk tradition of any state is the soul of that state, this also includes the festival of Igas. Our folk festivals and rich cultural heritage work to provide vibrancy in social life. (ANI)
