PM Modi calls for scrutiny of welfare schemes

New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called the opposition parties to constitute a task force in an endeavour to find the loopholes, if any, in the schemes launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Saying that their ultimate goal is to serve the nation, Prime Minister Modi noted, "We are always looking for suggestions, feedback, and input on our schemes. After all, we are working for the nation and the poor. There might be some loopholes in our schemes, that is why I would request my friends from Congress and other parties to constitute a task force and study the loopholes in our schemes if any, I will pay due attention to your suggestions".

Further, backing the recently-launched scheme, 'Ayushman Bharat', which aims at improving the health infrastructure in the nation, the Prime Minister urged the Congress party to not compare Indian schemes with that of other nations.

"You were speaking about Ayushman Bharat and gave the example of US and Britain, there is a vast difference between them and our society," said the Prime Minister.

"It is not mandatory that what works for some other nation, works for us and vice versa. I believe that the Congress was in power for decades and hence lost connection from ground reality," he added. (ANI)
