Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 1 (ANI): In a landmark step towards bridging the digital divide, a state-of-the-art smart classroom has been established at Government Middle School, Baryal, in Udhampur district by the Department of Social welfare under the flagship PM Adarsh Gram Yojana.
This transformative initiative aims to revolutionise education in rural India by providing students with access to modern teaching methodologies and resources.

In line with the Prime Minister's Adarsh Gram Scheme, numerous developmental projects have been undertaken in Udhampur district.
The district, which initially had 31 model villages, now boasts 50 such villages following the sanction of 19 additional ones.

These model villages have been equipped with solar lights, clean water facilities, smart class rooms, libraries and other essential amenities, courtesy of the Union Government.
The newly established smart classroom is a testament to the government's unwavering commitment to uplifting the educational standards in government schools.
Equipped with the latest technology, including interactive LED screens, comfortable desks, and a reliable power backup system, the classroom offers an immersive learning environment.
Students can now engage with digital content, participate in interactive sessions, and explore a world of knowledge beyond textbooks.
Baryal village, once grappling with limited educational opportunities, has now emerged as a beacon of hope for the region.
The introduction of the smart classroom is expected to inspire students to dream big and achieve their full potential.
It is a significant stride towards creating a level playing field for students from rural areas and ensuring they have equal access to quality education.
Students and the school administration have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the government for this remarkable initiative.
They believe that a smart classroom will not only enhance academic performance but also ignite a passion for learning among the students.

Speaking to ANI, Ayush, a class 8 student, said, "We used to study with books earlier but now that our classes have turned to smart classes,. We have switched to LED learning now. I want to thank the government for this."

Another student, Preeti Sharma, told ANI, "Smart classes have made it easier for us to learn after the LEDs were setup in the classes. We used to learn with books earlier but now we have switched to a smarter way of learning and studying."
With the successful implementation of the smart classroom project in Baryal, the government has set a new benchmark for rural development.
It is hoped that this model will be replicated in other villages across the country, empowering the youth of India with the tools they need to succeed in the 21st century. (ANI)
