Amnour (Bihar) [India], May 19 (ANI): BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Saran, Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Saturday called on citizens to fulfil their democratic duty by voting in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Rudy emphasized the importance of voter turnout, in line with the Election Commission's directives.
"Well, the time for asking vote is over now. And as for the election commission directives, we cannot ask for votes. But at least the election commission itself says that every voter should come out and vote for democracy, vote for the constitution, and use his vote. That is what is most important for the nation today. So please come and vote. It's your choice. And I'm sure the choice is very evident," Rudy said while speaking to ANI.
BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy is in the electoral fray against RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya.
In a message to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rudy said, "For the first time in his 40 years of political career, he spent about a month sitting in Chapra. Please make a house in Chapra. You have been here for a very long time. Please stay in Chapra. People love to see you...So please make a house, stay in Chapra and certainly, the people will love you."
In the 2019 election, Rajiv Pratap Rudy got 4,99,342 votes beating RJD's Chandrika Roy who got 3,60,913 votes.

The 40 seats in Bihar are undergoing polls in all seven phases. In 2019, BJP-led NDA swept the state by winning 39 out of 40 seats, while Congress won just one seat. RJD, a formidable force in the state failed to open its account.
Voting will take place in Saran, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sitamarhi and Madhubani Lok Sabha seats on May 20 in the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha election where the electoral fate of 80 candidates will be decided. (ANI)
