"People of Uttarakhand will be indebted to heroes": CM Dhami pays tribute remembering Khatima firing incident

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the soldiers by garlanding their statues at Shaheed Sthal in Khatima and said that the people of Uttarakhand will always be indebted to these heroes.

Khatima (Uttarakhand) [India], September 1 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the soldiers by garlanding their statues at Shaheed Sthal in Khatima and said that the people of Uttarakhand will always be indebted to these heroes.
"These great souls have sacrificed both their present and future for our better future; the people of Uttarakhand will always be indebted to these heroes," CM Dhami said.
He said that these great people had sacrificed themselves so that Uttarakhand could fulfil their dreams in the true sense only by becoming a separate state.
"Even today, the hearts of the people of Khatima, including the people of the entire Uttarakhand, tremble remembering the Khatima firing incident. The first martyrdom for the creation of a separate state was given on the land of Khatima, and as a result of this martyrdom, we have been able to create our own identity as a separate state, which is a matter of pride for the people of Khatima," he said.

The Chief Minister said that every moment of ours is dedicated to building the Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators.
"We are also committed to bringing the flow of development to the person standing at the last end of Devbhoomi," he added.
He said that strict anti-copying law has been implemented in the state, under which now no one can stop the ability, talent and capability of the youth from moving forward.
The Chief Minister, while paying tribute to the great sons of Uttarakhand, late Bhagwan Singh Sirola, late Pratap Singh, late Rampal, late Salim Ahmed, late Gopichand, late Dharmanand Bhatt and late Paramjeet Singh, who sacrificed their lives on the 30th anniversary of the Khatima firing incident, said that we can never forget the pain of the Khatima firing incident that took place on September 1, 1994.
"They all wanted the development and upliftment of Uttarakhand and believed that Uttarakhand could fulfil their dreams in the true sense only by becoming a separate state. The true tribute to the sacrifice and renunciation of these great souls will be that we all together build the Uttarakhand of their dreams. Our government is making every possible effort to realize the ideals and dreams of the state agitators with full commitment. Every moment of ours is dedicated to building the Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators," he said.

The Chief Minister said that today we are working in every field to ensure the upliftment of the people through various schemes, from strengthening the infrastructure facilities of connectivity, education, health, and tourism in the state.
"Employment generation and economic development are being accelerated by developing in the field of industrialization, tourism and agriculture," CM Dhami said.
He said that we are working with innovation by bringing many new policies, including logistics policy, startup policy and service sector policy. Our government is moving forward with coordination between ecology and economy while working on the conservation of water, forest, and land.
He said that our government has also implemented a 10 per cent horizontal reservation for the state agitators and their dependents while expressing gratitude to the state agitators.
CM Dhami said that women's power has also played a big role in the state movement.
"Paying tribute to Nari Shakti, our government has also done the historic work of implementing 30 per cent horizontal reservation for women, while on the other hand, the families of martyred agitators are also being given a pension of Rs 3000 per month. While jailed, injured, and active agitators are being given a pension of Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,500 per month, respectively," he said.
He said that free education in schools and colleges to maximum two children of the state agitators, free travel in government buses, and pension facility to their dependents have also been provided.

The Chief Minister said that the concept of a separate state also included the concern to preserve the demography of our state.
"Our government is continuously working to protect the demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Along with implementing a strict anti-conversion law, we have freed 5000 acres of government land from land jihad by removing illegal encroachment. Along with this, our government has also done the historic work of implementing anti-riot law and uniform civil code with the aim of ensuring happiness, peace and equality in the state," the Uttarakhand CM said.
He said that this year Uttarakhand has secured the first position in the country in the ranking of Sustainable Development Goals released by NITI Aayog, which reflects our efforts towards the development of the state.
The Chief Minister said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new work culture has developed in the country, and new dimensions of development have been established.
"With the inspiration of the Prime Minister, an Industrial Smart City will soon be established in Khurpiya of Udham Singh Nagar, which will create new employment opportunities in this area," CM Dhami said.
He said that our government has given jobs to more than 16 thousand youth in the last three years. Under disaster management, an amount of 25 crores has been released to the district for the assistance of disaster-affected people, till now an amount of Rs 12 crore 68 lakh has been distributed to the disaster-affected people.
He also thanked the Prime Minister and the Home Minister for relaxing the disaster construction standards and increasing the amount.
The Chief Minister said that we are constantly striving to work for the development of the state with our basic mantra of "Vikalp Rahit Sankalp" to make Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators. (ANI)
