People for Animals (PFA) volunteers feed animals in Bhubaneswar during lockdown

Ahmedabad City Crime Branch conducted a successful raid at a residential dwelling in the Navrangpura area on Sunday, unearthing a large-scale, illegal, and highly hazardous breeding and sales racket of rare exotic animals and birds.

"We call upon all the students of JNU to intensify the struggle to ensure a complete lockdown from tonight. We appeal to all students to reach the Main Gate. We will March from JNU Main Gate to Vasant Kunj Police Station," JNUSU announced.

Dr Arjun Dang, CEO of Dr. Dang's Lab, identified Influenza A (H3N2), Metapneumovirus, Coronaviruses, and Influenza B as the primary agents circulating in Delhi-NCR and noted that the surge is likely linked to cooler temperatures, fluctuating humidity, and rising air pollution, which often forces more people into crowded indoor spaces.

He said that students and the public should also be made aware of the behaviour of stray dogs and other animals, as well as the preventive measures and first aid to prevent the spread of various diseases through them.

Dara Kavitha, Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), said that the institute resorted to getting private dog catchers following the dog menace on campus since November, as the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) did not have dog catchers at the time.
