Sirsa (Haryana) [India], May 25 (ANI): Braving the heat wave conditions, people turned up to polling stations in Haryana's Sirsa on Saturday to cast their votes in the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the district witnessed severe heatwave conditions, with the maximum temperature being recorded at 45 degrees Celsius.
Despite the searing heat, they did not lack enthusiasm and headed to their respective polling booths with protection like sunglasses, caps, scarves, and water bottles to exercise their franchise.
Speaking with ANI, Sunil Sethi, a voter at a polling booth, said, "The weather is very hot. But we all have come here to cast our vote. This is for the nation's development. It's important to cast vote in favour of the right candidate."
"Due to the heat, there was less voting in the evening but in the morning, a lot of people were there. My parents also voted in the morning only," he added.

Ankur Sethi, another voter, said, "We can do at least this much for the country. I would say that everyone should come out despite the heat."

"I was not able to come in the morning because of my office. So I came in the afternoon. Due to heat, the voting was low in the afternoon, but in the morning, several people already cast their vote," a lady voter said.

Haryana recorded a voter turnout of 58.56 per cent till 8.30 pm in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. (ANI)
