Parliament adjourned till January 2

New Delhi [India], Dec 27 (ANI): Both the Houses of parliament were adjourned on Friday till January 2.

The Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha will not function on January 1, 2018, as it is a holiday and will start its proceedings on Tuesday at 11 am.

Earlier in the day, the Rajya Sabha took up a private members bill to vote which did not garner enough support.

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha passed the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill 2017.

The new amendments are part of the ordinance that was brought in last month.

The Bill prohibits certain persons from submitting a resolution plan in case of defaults.

These include wilful defaulters, promoters or management of the company having an outstanding non-performing debt for over a year. (ANI)
