Panchayat polls held in Tripura amidst tight security, 79.06 pc voter turnout recorded till 4 pm

Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 8 (ANI): The three-tier panchayat elections in Tripura began at 7 am on Thursday amidst tight security, with 79.06 per cent voter turnout being recorded till 4 pm, as per information from the State Election Commission (SEC).

Antara Sarkar, BJP MLA in Kamalasgar constituency, Sepahijala district, spoke about the elections and said, "Three-tier panchayat elections in Tripura began this morning in different parts of Tripura.All the voters cast their votes in peace and comfort."
"Under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha, everything has been conducted very nicely," she said.
Dipak Kumar Sutradhar, Presiding Officer, at 77 Champamura HS School, South Part, Sepahijala District, said, "Panchayat election vote casting started this morning at 7 am. We prepared everything on time, and people came to cast their votes amidst security arrangements."
Purna Debbarma, a voter, also spoke on the three-tier panchayat polls and said, "I am happy to cast my vote. I like this comment and I want this government to continue forever."
Tania Nandi, another voter, said, "I cast my vote in Rabindranath Tagore College. I had no issues casting my vote. I hope there is development in this area."
Earlier, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence in the BJP's victory in the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections in the state.
On the last day of the nomination submission for the election, the Chief Minister also visited Mata Tripuri Temple and offered prayers.
In a significant move aimed at boosting employment, the Tripura government had earlier announced plans to release over 10,000 job opportunities following the completion of the Panchayat elections.
This decision was made by Tripura's Chief Minister, Manik Saha, with his commitment to the state's development and the welfare of its youth.
Chief Minister Saha had instructed officials to expedite the release of pending job offers.
Following the panchayat polls, approximately 10,000 job offers, including positions in the Tripura Police, Junior Recruitment Board Tripura (JRBT), and Special Executives, will be released.
This move is expected to significantly reduce unemployment and contribute to the overall development of Tripura. (ANI)
