Palaniswami urges PM Modi to constitute Cauvery Management Board

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb 24 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take an appropriate action for the constitution of the Cauvery Management Board.

The Chief Minister also urged the Prime Minister for implementing Cauvery regulation committee as per the Supreme Court guidelines.

"On this auspicious occasion, I request you (Prime Minister) to take appropriate action for the constitution of the Cauvery Management Board and for implementing Cauvery regulation committee as per the Supreme Court guidelines," Palaniswami said while attending the launching ceremony of Amma Two Wheeler Scheme here on the birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Prime Minister Modi was also present in the event.

The Supreme Court's February 16 verdict on the Cauvery River water dispute decreased Tamil Nadu's share in the water body, much to the dismay of the people of the state. (ANI)
