Owaisi asks CM Yogi to clean minds of his ministers

Hyderabad (Telengana) [India], October 26 (ANI): The President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Thursday took a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asking him to clean the minds of his ministers instead of sweeping the floors.

"Ek duniya ki sabse kimati jhadu khareede aur sabka dimaag saaf kare aur ho sake to apna dimaag bhi saaf kare. (We would just like to tell Chief Minister Yogi to buy the best broom in the world and clean the brains of his ministers and, if he can, should clean his brain as well)," Owaisi said, while addressing the media.

The statement came after Chief Minister Yogi swept the roads in Agra before visiting historical monument Taj Mahal.

However, he added that even though they bring the world's best broom, the "webs" inside their brains would not get cleaned.

"These are not just webs; they just want to pull people towards this web," Owaisi said.

Speaking about the recent controversy regarding Taj Mahal, Owaisi asserted that the whole Nation today knows that these people "hate the history of India".

He added that they don't have much hate towards the British, who ruled India for 200 years, but they want to eradicate the history that mentions about Muslims.

Also, mentioning the letter that Shia Central Waqf Board wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proposing that the Humayun's Tomb in Delhi be removed from the 'national heritage list', demolished and turned into a graveyard for the Muslims, Owaisi said the letter is nothing short of "derogatory".

"The statement about Humayun Tomb shows that these people have a mindset of Taliban and ISIS because such things were done by these two terrorist organisations where they blew up the protected monuments in Syria and Afghanistan. And the whole nation can see that the people with such mindsets are taking decisions and are backed by the BJP as well," he added.

Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chief Wasim Rizvi while speaking to ANI said, "If Humayun's Tomb is made into graveyard, the Muslims here won't require another for next 100 years, as the land where the tomb sits is huge."

The statement by Rizvi comes in light with the controversy around the Taj Mahal after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sangeet Som said that the 17th-century monument in India's culture was built by a traitor and was "a blot on Indian culture".

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who visited the Taj Mahal today, however, later had shrugged off Som's remark and said, "It does not matter who built it and for what reason. It was built by blood and sweat of Indian labourers."

This is his maiden visit to the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal, after being sworn into office earlier this year. (ANI)
