Over Rs 1600 crore transferred to beneficiaries under rural development schemes: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday announced that the government has transferred the amount of Rs 1650.33 crore to the beneficiaries under various schemes under the Rural Development Department.

Patna (Bihar) [India], October 7 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced on Monday that the government has transferred Rs 1,650.33 crore to beneficiaries under various schemes of the Rural Development Department.
In a post on X, CM Nitish Kumar stated that the amount was transferred to beneficiaries at 'Sankalp', located at 1, Aney Marg in Patna.
"The sanctioned amount of Rs 1,650.33 crore was transferred to beneficiaries under various schemes of the Rural Development Department at 'Sankalp' located at 1, Aney Marg. Under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, Rs 113 crore was transferred to 34,000 beneficiaries for livelihood enhancement, and Rs 400 crore was allocated as Community Investment Funds to 48,500 self-help groups under Jeevika," CM Nitish Kumar shared on X.
The Chief Minister further explained that a loan amount of Rs 537.33 crore was transferred to 15,314 self-help groups through various banks.
"Apart from this, under the Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan, Rs 180 crore was allocated to 1,50,000 families after the construction of toilets. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, housing was approved for 1,10,000 families, and Rs 420 crore was transferred as the first instalment to 1,05,000 beneficiaries," CM Kumar said on X.
Earlier on Saturday, CM Nitish Kumar announced that Rs 307 crore in relief funds had been directly transferred to the bank accounts of 4.39 lakh families affected by the first phase of floods across 13 districts.
The funds, provided at a rate of Rs 7,000 per family, were transferred via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system from the CM's official residence at 1, Aney Marg. CM Kumar also mentioned that the remaining flood-affected families would receive their relief funds before Durga Puja, by October 9. (ANI)
