As part of the Seva Pakhwada, Ayushman Bhav Abhiyan for saturation of essential health services is being held across the country from September 17.
New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): More than 5 lakh Ayushman Bharat beneficiary cards have been generated in just four days since the launch of the Ayushman Bhav campaign, the union health ministry said on Thursday.
As part of the Seva Pakhwada, Ayushman Bhav Abhiyan for saturation of essential health services is being held across the country from September 17.
The 'Ayushman Bhav' campaign inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on September 13 aims to redefine healthcare accessibility and inclusivity across the country, and embodies a whole-of-nation and whole-of-society approach.
The core objective of the Sewa Pakhwada is to extend comprehensive healthcare coverage to every village and town, transcending geographical barriers and ensuring that no one is left behind, the ministry said.
In just 4 days’ footfall of over 20 lakh have been registered at the Health and Wellness Centres (HWC) and Community Health Centres (CHC) for availing free treatment and screening services.
As part of the Ayushman Bhav Abhiyan, over 50,000 health melas have been organised at the HWCs and the CHCs together in the last five days.
“As part of the Ayushman Bhav campaign, in the last five days alone, over 20 lakh ABHA IDs have been generated and in just three days, over 10 lakh people received free drugs, and over 8 lakh people received free diagnostic services,” it said.
It further said that the Seva Pakhwada aims to play a pivotal role in distributing Ayushman cards, generating ABHA IDs, and raising awareness about vital health schemes and disease conditions, such as non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis (Nikshay Mitra), sickle cell disease, as well as blood donation and organ donation drives.
“To access the services provided under the Seva Pakhwada, citizens are encouraged to visit their nearest Health and Wellness Centres,” it added. (ANI)
