Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday conducted an aerial survey of wolf-affected areas in Bahraich district and met with victims of recent wolf attacks.
The state government has classified human-wildlife conflict as a disaster, ensuring financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh for families of deceased victims and support for the injured.
To address the ongoing terror caused by wolf attacks over the past 15-20 days, 21 task forces and six Forest Department teams led by senior officials have been deployed to enhance safety and control the situation.

"Our government has classified human-wildlife conflict as a disaster, bringing such affected families within the scope of government assistance. Families who have lost members are provided with government assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh. Effective steps are also taken to protect against such wildlife. The injured are treated and provided financial assistance... The atmosphere of terror has been constant for the past 15-20 days... The government has formed 21 task forces throughout the area... The Forest Department has also formed six teams led by senior officials," he said.
The locals of Baba Patav village of Majhara Taukli area in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district are living in extreme fear and distress, given the attacks on children by wild animals.
A young girl was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday evening after being attacked by a wild animal, presumably a wolf, and she was declared dead. A total of four incidents have been reported in the Bahraich district within the past 15 days of sudden attacks by untamed animals.
Bahraich District Magistrate (DM) Akshay Tripathi told reporters earlier that more than 20 forest department teams are engaged in resolving the issue, along with 21 teams from the Panchayat and Rural Development Departments.
"This is a village under the Kaiserganj tehsil, and this is the third fatality by an animal attack in this particular village. Currently, over 20 teams from the Forest Department are working with thermal drones and additional drones. We have also deployed 21 teams from the Panchayat and Rural Development Departments for this particular village. We have asked the villagers to keep their children in safe locations," DM Tripathi said. (ANI)
