Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], December 6 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday reiterated his government's commitment to delivering on pre-poll promises.
Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Dhami said his administration had worked "with full sincerity and responsibility" to implement assurances given to the public, including the rollout of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
He also reviewed preparations for the winter Char Dham Yatra, stating that arrangements were undertaken much earlier this year to ensure a smooth pilgrimage season.
"Under the guidance of PM Modi, our government fulfils every promise made to the people... Before the elections, we had promised the public about UCC, and we have fulfilled that promise... This time, we started preparations for the winter Char Dham Yatra much in advance, and all arrangements have been made to ensure that pilgrims face no inconvenience. In the coming times, the number of pilgrims will increase further, and for this, we have enhanced the facilities," the Chief Minister said.
Highlighting measures for the agricultural sector, Chief Minister Dhami assured sugarcane growers that the government will fully support the upcoming harvest and procurement cycle.
"We assure the farmers that they should cultivate their full sugarcane crop, and the government will make complete arrangements for its procurement," he added.
Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Dhami, while addressing the Herbal Advisory Committee meeting held at the Secretariat, directed officials to work systematically in the herbal sector by creating village-level clusters.
He emphasised that special focus should be placed on the promotion and development of herbal and medicinal products from the higher Himalayan regions.
The Chief Minister instructed that a team of subject experts from the state be sent to study the best practices of the two leading states in the herbal and aroma sectors, so that these innovations can also be implemented in Uttarakhand.
He said that to increase turnover in the herbal industry, coordinated efforts should be made in research, innovation, production, marketing, and branding. (ANI)
