Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi [India], Nov 21 (ANI): A day after Arvind Kejriwal was allegedly attacked in the Delhi Secretariat, the Delhi Chief Minister said that other parties are trying to get him killed as they fear that public would soon start asking them why they failed at achieving the kind of development the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has achieved in the national capital.
"I had been attacked four times in the last two years which is not a small thing. I think that in the history of India, such a thing has never happened. It is obvious that these attacks are being planned. These people want to get me killed because the way in which development has taken place under my government, no government has been able to do that. They are scared as the public has started questioning and comparing other states with the Aam Aadmi Party government," he told reporters here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, workers and leaders of the AAP took to the streets to protest against the attack and alleged that the Delhi Police in coordination with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not taking responsibility of the Chief Minister's safety.
AAP Leader Atishi Marlena, who was also a part of the protest said, "Delhi Police, under the BJP ruled Centre, is responsible for the safety of the Chief Minister. This is the second incident in a gap of a few weeks in which the Chief Minister has been attacked and this time inside the secretariat. This clearly points at the BJP. "
Spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "In the last four years since Kejriwal became the Chief Minister, he has been attacked four times. One should know that the police has not filed a charge sheet in any of the cases so far. The Delhi Police is giving a clear message to encourage attacks on the Chief Minister. Delhi Police is acting like a political tool."
40-year-old Anil Sharma was arrested by the Delhi Police on Tuesday for allegedly attacking the Chief Minister with chilli powder.
The police informed that during the investigation, Sharma was found to be "unstable and incoherent". (ANI)
