Opposition's negative politics depriving assembly of useful discussions: Yogi

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Aug 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday accused the Samajwadi Party and the Congress of playing negative politics and thereby depriving the state assembly of positive discussions.
After the assembly session was adjourned following an uproar by opposition parties, Adityanath while addressing the media on the sidelines of the assembly session said, "The law and order situation is best at present in last 15 years. It is being appreciated in the whole country. The success of our investor summit is a testimony of our resolve in this direction".
The Chief Minister came under attack during assembly session when the Opposition blamed him for failing to protect women and minorities, citing the example of Deoria shelter case.
Explaining his position on the issue, he said, "The Deoria shelter home case was today raised in assembly by the Congress and the Samajwadi Party. Our government has already initiated action in this case. The concerned organisation was given affiliation in the year 2009 when there was a different government in the state and at the Centre. It has been receiving funds from 2009 to 2017."
He further added, "Our government came into existence in 2017 and we initiated action against all such shelter homes which have come under investigation or are on the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) radar. We have terminated their affiliations and stopped all funding to them."
Emphasising further on the action taken by the state government in this regard, Adityanath said, "In this issue, everyone who was found guilty at any level has faced action from our government. We have urged for CBI inquiry into the case, and until then, the whole issue is being investigated by a three-member team formed under Additional Director General (ADG) Crime branch of Uttar Pradesh. In addition to him, the probe team also comprises two Superintendents of Police (SP) rank lady officials. The UP High Court is monitoring the case. I feel that to hide their incompetence, the Opposition is unnecessarily creating a ruckus in the assembly."
The Deoria shelter home case came to light after an inmate escaped and informed the police about the alleged ill-treatment meted out to them. On August 5, Uttar Pradesh police arrested a couple and rescued 24 girls from the shelter home. On August 7, the Chief Minister announced transfer of the case to the CBI. (ANI)
