New Delhi (India), Aug 3[ANI]: The opposition parties will decide Prime Ministerial candidate's name after result for 2019 Lok Sabha elections is announced said sources.
This comes at a time when Congress President Rahul Gandhi was already touted to be the main face in the battle against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections.
It was only a week back that the party's spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said it would be Rahul Gandhi who will be Congress' Prime Ministerial candidate.
"Naturally, the Congress president would be the only face to be projected. The Congress would fight this election by putting forward our leader," Surjewala said.
According to sources, the Congress is also working on forming a strategic alliance in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, the sources also said that it is yet to be decided that whether UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi or her daughter Priyanaka Gandhi will contest from Rai Bareli seat in the upcoming general elections. (ANI)
