Patna (Bihar) [India], March 16 (ANI): Calling upon the Opposition, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday said that the Constitution and the country are under threat and therefore, they should not make any strategic mistake by holding their egos high in seat sharing with allies.
"There is unprecedented trouble on the constitution and the country. If the opposition makes any strategic mistake this time then nobody knows whether general elections would take place in this country or not. If you didn’t give up your ego on increasing your few seats while curtailing that of your allies, the citizens who have faith in Constitution will never forgive," tweeted Yadav.
In another tweet, he criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying that he is an "opportunist" who had betrayed the mandate of the people of Bihar.
"Despite us being the largest party, we made Nitish Kumar Chief Minister in 2015, in order to save the Constitution and reservation from the BJP. We also gave the post of president of Vidhan Sabha to him, but the opportunist Chief Minister betrayed the public mandate in order to save himself in Srijan Scam, "tweeted Yadav.
As the final seat sharing is being finalised in the Bihar alliance, last minute hiccups are also being reported from the state.
As per sources, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav along with Vikassheel Insaan Party's (VIP) Mukesh Sahni and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha will be meeting Rahul Gandhi to sort out differences.
Sources stated that the differences have come up over the Darbhanga parliamentary constituency which is being claimed by recently inducted Congress member Kirti Azad and VIP's Mukesh Sahni. While Azad happens to be the incumbent MP from the Darbhanga seat, Sahni is laying claim to the same seat citing votes of his community in the region.
Bihar will undergo seven phased elections for its 40 Lok Sabha seats. Elections will be held on April 11, 18, 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. The results would be announced on May 23. (ANI)
