New Delhi [India] September 26 (ANI): Addressing the Delhi Legislative Assembly for the first time since his resignation, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on BJP, saying that the opposition must be 'sad' to see him and Manish Sisodia in the assembly.
Kejriwal verbal tirade comes after he was put behind bars in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam, he was granted bail on September 13, following which he resigned from his CM post.
Slamming BJP and PM Modi, Kejriwal and said, "My colleagues in the opposition must be sad to see Manish Sisodia and me here. I always say PM Modi is very powerful and has a lot of resources but Modi is not God but the God who is there is with us."
He further thanked the Supreme Court for granting him bail and assured that the justice 'still persist' in India.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of 'ruining' Delhi's condition while he was in jail.
"I went for a road inspection with the CM. Delhi University's roads used to be great before I went to jail and I have asked her to pass an order to repair the roads there. I met a BJP leader 3-4 days ago. I asked him if there was any benefit in sending me to jail, he said that we derailed the whole Delhi Government. I felt sad and angry. They are happy after ruining the life of 2 crore people living in the capital." he said
"They wanted to defame AAP to gain votes. You have the central governemnt, you couldv'e made 5000 Mohalla clinic, Manish Sisodia made 700 schools, you could've made 7000 schools instead you are trying to stop our work. People will only vote on doing work not stopping it." he added.
Speaking about the termination of bus marshals, Kejriwal said, "They have removed Bus-Marshal. These people are from poor family. You have stopped elderly's pension. They have stopped pilgrimage tour started by us. You should go on the pilgrimage."

Kejriwal assured that AAP is "still standing strong" after the senior leader pof AAP was put in jail. He further claimed that BJP will "break if only two people are put in jail."
The SC on September 13 granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by CBI in the alleged excise policy scam. The Supreme Court said prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty.
Following his Kejriwal resigned from the Delhi's CM post and the responsibility was handed to Atishi.
Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22. On June 26, 2024, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by CBI while he was in custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the excise case. (ANI)
