"Only talked about foreign culture and Indian culture": Min Vijayvargiya issues clarification over remark on Rahul-Priyanka Gandhi bond

Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, state cabinet minister Vijayvargiya said, "...I am not questioning the sanctity of any relationship. All relationships are sacred. Be it father-son or husband-wife or brother and sister. However, there is a limit, and I am referring to that. What I have said is that this happens in foreign countries, but it does not happen like this here... If you had listened to my entire speech, this question would not have arisen. I only talked about foreign culture and Indian culture..."

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Friday made a clarification over his statement about the bond between Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying he was not questioning the sanctity of any relationship but only talked about foreign and Indian culture.
Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, minister Vijayvargiya said, "...I am not questioning the sanctity of any relationship.
While addressing a public gathering in Shajapur district on Thursday, Vijayvagiya had made the remark regarding the bond between the Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
"...Our Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) is such that he kisses his sister. I would like to ask you people, is there anyone who kisses his sister or daughter publicly? This is a lack of culture. These values are from foreign culture. India will follow our culture and values...," Vijayvargiya can be heard saying in his address.
The Congress party strongly criticised Vijayvargiya's remark and stated that the minister has revealed his narrow mindset by making such a cheap remark on the sacred brother-sister relationship.
"The way Kailash Vijayvargiya made the remark, I want to tell the sisters and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as well as the people of the country, that if such individuals remain in power, then how will they be able to protect the nation's traditions, culture, and family values. The comment made by Vijayvargiya is not against Rahul Gandhi, but against the civilization and traditions of ancient India. Since he wants to become Chief Minister and is unable to do so, he has lost his mental balance and is speaking in such a manner out of frustration. We all condemn this statement, and we pray to Maa Narmada to grant him some wisdom," said Congress chief Jitu Patwari in a video shared on his official X handle.
Meanwhile, there is an outrage among the Congress leaders across the state as a result of which, the leaders and party workers of the Congress burn an effigy of MP Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in his home city, Indore. They also raised slogans against the MP Minister. (ANI)
