One person died, several injured in stone-pelting incident in Odisha's villages

According to Delhi Police, around 12:30 am, staff of Prince Hotel located at SPM T-point on Church Mission Road informed the beat staff that Room No. 205 was locked and the guest inside was not responding despite repeated knocking.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on March 13-14 March. In a video released by the Chief Minister's PRO, Sangma said he was at the NPP office in Tura and acknowledged the previous day's unrest, during which several locations, including the party office, were vandalised, attacked and set on fire by unidentified individuals. He said the incident was unfortunate and emphasised that there was no justification for targeting the party office.

The incident occurred at Capital Power System Limited, a company engaged in the manufacture of electricity meters, under the jurisdiction of the Phase 2 police station. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials said.

In his letter, Odisha CM wrote, 'The incident cast an avoidable shadow on the image of Bengal, a land known for its culture, civility and respect for democratic institutions."
