One held for stealing oil from IOCL pipeline in Delhi's Dwarka

One person was arrested for allegedly stealing oil from the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) pipeline in Dwarka, police said on Thursday.

New Delhi [India], October 6 (ANI): One person was arrested for allegedly stealing oil from the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) pipeline in Dwarka, police said on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh alias Golu (52).
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan, on October 4 an incident of oil theft from the Delhi-Panipat section of an IOCL pipeline was reported by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Northern Region.
"The company reported that on September 29 they performed an inspection and it was found that oil theft was likely to be happening from the area of Village Pochanpur, Dwarka, Delhi. On their complaint, police visited the spot and on digging the spot, it was found that the accused persons had drilled the IOCL Pipeline and using a valve mechanism inserted a plastic pipe in the pipeline," the official said.
Police said that when its team reached the spot and after excavation, it was found that a machine for extracting oil by drilling holes in the oil pipeline was installed at the spot in which two plastic pipes were connected.

"During the investigation, it is found that the pipe is laid in an underground tunnel dug by the accused persons and surfaces in the plot of one Rakesh alias Golu, Village Pochanpur, Delhi," a police official said.
A 40-metre pipe, one 62-metre pipe, one-metre pipe, 1 mini blower, 1 large blower, iron sabbal, spanner, wrenches, 2D blind and 5 nuts, 2 boxes epoxy hardener, 1 hand-saw and seal gun have also been recovered, police said.
Police said that efforts are ongoing to nab other accused in the case.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Dwarka Sector 23, police said.
Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
