Old City metro rail will be completed in 4 yrs: Telangana CM

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced in Legislative Assembly on Saturday that his government took on the responsibility of completing the Old City metro rail project in four years.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 27 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday that his government took on the responsibility of completing the Old City metro rail project in four years.
"Old City is not an old habitation in Hyderabad. It is the original city. As Union Minister for Urban Development, Jaipal Reddy provided Viable Gap Fund for the construction of Hyderabad Metro Rail," CM Reddy said.
He said, "During the 10-year rule, the previous BRS government failed to extend Metro Rail services to Old City."
CM said that the Congress government submitted a report to the Centre for Metro Rail's second phase project on the 78-kilometre stretch, as per a statement from the Chief Ministers Office.
"Soon after coming to power, the Congress government laid the foundation stone for metro rail in the old city," he said, adding, "My government took on the responsibility of completing the old city metro rail project in four years."
Meanwhile, CM Reddy said on Friday that within one year of Congress coming to power in the state, 60,000 government job vacancies have been filled. He added that 30,000 more job vacancies will be filled by his government in the next 90 days.
"My government will function in tune with the aspirations of the people. As part of that, education and agriculture have been allocated the highest amount of funds in the budget. In accordance with the ideas of the people's government, education and medical and health sectors are given top priority in the budget. Salaries are being paid on the first day of every month to the government employees and instilled confidence," Revanth Reddy said on Friday.
He told unemployed youth in the state to represent their problems to MLAs and Ministers. He said that he would be available to all to address their grievances. (ANI)
