Odisha: Principal arrested for sexually assaulting class 5 student

The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notice on a petition challenging orders that prohibit public meetings and protests within the Delhi University campus. The court has sought responses from Delhi University, Delhi Police, and concerned colleges regarding the restrictions imposed earlier this year.

In his letter, Odisha CM wrote, 'The incident cast an avoidable shadow on the image of Bengal, a land known for its culture, civility and respect for democratic institutions."

A Delhi court has granted interim bail to two accused in a case involving alleged racist and derogatory remarks against three students from the Northeast, while directing them to strictly cooperate with the ongoing investigation and comply with several conditions imposed by the court.

The response from the student community was overwhelming. A total of 2409 students cast their votes in the referendum. 2181 students (90.54%) voted against the continuation of the Vice Chancellor in JNU. 207 students (8.59%) voted in favour of her continuation. 21 votes (0.87%) were declared invalid.
