Puri (Odisha) [India], July 19 (ANI): BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda on Friday addressed the BJP State Executive Committee Meeting and emphasised the party's commitment to serving the Adivasi community, vowing to make every effort to bring them into the mainstream.
The Union Minister also congratulated the party workers for the results of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and said, "I would like to congratulate each party member of BJP Odisha. Thank you very much for putting in all your strength to make the lotus bloom in Odisha. You have geared up to serve the people of Odisha and will leave no stone unturned in taking the people of Odisha forward, and Lord Jagannath will give you blessings... We will serve the people of Odisha."
He further said, "The Adivasi brothers also gave their blessings to BJP and I want to assure you that BJP will leave no stone unturned in your service and will bring you forward in the mainstream."
Reiterating his commitment to work for the tribal community, he said, "I want to assure you that we will lead our Adivasi brothers and Scheduled Caste brothers forward with full strength. We will leave no stone unturned to take them forward into the mainstream."
Notably, in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the Biju Janata Dal faced a significant setback, failing to secure any of the 21 seats, while the BJP won 20 seats and Congress managed to win one seat. In the state assembly elections, the BJD won 51 out of 147 seats, while the BJP secured a majority by winning 78 seats. The Biju Janata Dala, which has ruled Odisha since 1997, lost to the BJP, breaking the 24-year-old reign of Naveen Patnaik as the Chief Minister.
The BJP National President also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming PM for the third time and said, "When Jawaharlal Nehru became Prime Minister for the third time, at that time, there was an aura and enthusiasm related to Congress and in that enthusiasm, Nehru won. And the opposition party was also almost negligible. In such circumstances, he won for the third time. But after 60 years, with full strength and power, Narendra Modi became the PM for the third time."
Nadda also praised the BJP and called it a pan-India party. "In Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim also, we were able to form a government. BJP is the only pan-India party. We are in North India, South India, West India, East India, and Central India. BJP is everywhere."
Nadda also stepped up his attacks on Congress party and targeted them by saying, "These people call themselves the saviours of Congress but they're not. 'Ye rakshak nahi bhakshak hai.' They have hurt the Constitution not once but several times. On June 25, 1975, we were taken to jail. About 1,25,000 people were put behind the bars. 'Ye Rahul kya jane itihas, ye Rahul kya jaane apne dadi ke karname.' (What does Rahul Gandhi knows about history? What does Rahul Gandhi know about his grandmother's deeds?... PM Modi has said that June 25 should be remembered as 'Samvidhan Raksha Divas.'"
Meanwhile, Nadda also took to his official X handle and posted about his address in Puri and said, "Addressed the dedicated BJP Odisha Karyakartas at the BJP State Executive Meeting in Puri, Odisha today. Delighted to be in the revered land of Lord Jagannath."
He added, "The recent election outcomes in Odisha's Assembly and Lok Sabha underscore the people's commitment to development and prosperity, aligning with PM Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Odisha' and 'Viksit Bharat@2047'. This victory is the result of the relentless efforts of our dedicated Karyakartas who worked tirelessly for our shared vision and progress." (ANI)
