Keonjhar (Odisha) [India], October 13 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday planted a sapling under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign at Raikala village in Keonjhar district.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation, urging everyone to join hands and plant trees as a mark of love, respect and honour for the motherland
Taking to X Odisha CM shared the images during planation and wrote,"At the invitation of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, I participated in a tree-for-mother program organized by Patishan Seva Trust at Raikala and planted saplings. Let us all, from children to adults, plant a tree for pregnant mothers. #EkPedMaaKeNaam."
The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign was inaugurated by PM Modi on June 5, World Environment Day this year.
Recently, during the 114th episode of "Mann Ki Baat," Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign stating that this was a recent example of strong resolve and collective participation in achieving significant societal outcomes.
In his monthly radio program, PM Modi noted that the initiative has successfully mobilised people across the country to engage in environmental conservation efforts.
On Saturday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited several Durga Puja pandals, and offered prayers to Maa Durga on the occasion of Navami in Cuttack district.
The Chief Minister also said that he would review the Smart City project in Cuttack during his visit. (ANI)
