Odisha CM flags off Kalia Raths to create awareness about KALIA scheme

Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], Feb 2 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off ‘Kalia Raths’ that will go to all the panchayats across the state to create awareness about the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Scheme.

Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], Feb 2 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off ‘Kalia Raths’ that will go to all the panchayats across the state to create awareness about the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Scheme.
As part of the initiative, a total of 150 vehicles will move across the rural areas of the state and create awareness on different aspects of the scheme through Audiovisual and folk art media.
Commissioner of Cooperation Department Krishan Kumar said, "We want that farmers must understand their rights under this scheme. They will be able to seek grievance redressal after being made aware of their rights. We have flagged off the first batch of 20 vehicles today and more will go soon".
On December 31, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the scheme for farmers and the landless in the state.
Under the scheme Rs 5,000 would be provided per farm family to 30, 17, 600 cultivators across the state.
The fund is meant for Rabi crop season 2018-19 for the purchase of agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, towards labour and other investments. (ANI)
