"Not right to talk at such low level...": MP Cong leader Govind Singh on Maharashtra CM Fadnavis's remark on Digvijaya Singh

"It is not right for Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to talk at such a low level. A person holding the Chief Minister position should not talk like this, it does not suit him. Digvijay Singh is a great leader of the country, he has taught leaders like Fadnavis and made them politically mature. He (Fadnavis) should control his language. The Congress party does not have a history of giving such a reply," Congress leader Govind Singh said.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 12 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Govind Singh retaliated against Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's remark on Congress' veteran leader Digivijaya Singh saying it was not right for the Maharastra CM to talk at such a low grade.
Singh further said that a person holding the post of the Chief Minister should not talk like that, it did not suit him.
"It is not right for Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to talk at such a low level. A person holding the Chief Minister position should not talk like this, it does not suit him. Digvijay Singh is a great leader of the country, he has introduced leaders like Fadnavis and made them politically mature. He (Fadnavis) should control his language. The Congress party does not have a history of giving such a reply," Congress leader Govind Singh said.
Veteran Congress Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh also retaliated over Fadnavis' remark saying those who think he is an idiot could think; he would not become it by their words.
"...Those who think I am an idiot can think so; I will not become an idiot because of their words," Digvijaya Singh said.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday lashed out at Congress leader Digvijaya Singh over the latter's controversial remark back in 2010 regarding the 26/11 Mumbai attack and said, "I don't respond to those who speak like idiots."
"First of all, I don't respond to those who speak like idiots. When Kasab was executed, and after that, when David Headley's statement was recorded in our judiciary, it became amply clear that this whole conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan," Fadnavis said.
"Those who propagate other conspiracy theories (about the involvement of RSS in 26/11), I don't want to respond to them. Now the prime conspirator is in our custody, and more things will come to light now." Fadnavis added.
In 2010, Digvijay Singh said that former ATS chief Hemant Karkare had told him telephonically before the Mumbai terror attack that he was under threat from right-wing groups over his handling of the Malegaon bomb blast case.
Singh had said that Karkare was targeted by RSS leaders and blamed his death on RSS. Former ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed in action in the wake of the horrific terror attacks of 2008 in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, speaking about the demonstration opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Act, which turned violent in West Bengal, Congress leader Govind Singh said that when something wrong happens, people get angry and he doesn't believe that only minority community people were involved in it.
"When something wrong happens, people get angry. I do not believe that it was done by the people of the Muslim community only. There are some people from the Bharatiya Janata Party, there are conspirators in the BJP, who conspire and do such acts. This could be a conspiracy to defame the Mamata Banerjee government. If a high level investigation is executed by the CBI, then the truth will be revealed," Singh claimed.
Nonetheless, West Bengal Police announced on Saturday that the situation in the Suti and Samserganj areas of Jangipur, Murshidabad district, is now under control.
An unruly mob, which had turned violent during demonstrations opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Act, was dispersed through effective police action.
According to a police official, the demonstrations were in response to the Waqf (Amendment) Act, but the situation has now stabilised. (ANI)
