New Delhi [India], August 2 (ANI): Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
In a post on X, Reddy slammed Rahul Gandhi for dragging deceased leaders into political controversies for personal gain.
The comment came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today claimed that the NDA government had sent the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to "threaten" him for trying to fight against the farm laws.
"Congress' Politics of Deceit...Rahul Gandhi dragging the deceased for his own selfish politics is not just pathetic but vile. Shri Arun Jaitley passed away in August 2019, and the farm laws were introduced only in 2020. To maliciously sully those who are no more in our midst for political point-scoring is a low blow," Reddy wrote on X.
He said the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha owes an unconditional apology to the family of Arun Jaitley for his reprehensible remarks.
"Not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has resorted to such nasty politics. When Manohar Parikar was terminally ill, he politicised his visit into a statement on the Rafale defence deal," he said.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday claimed that the NDA government had sent the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to "threaten" him for trying to fight against the farm laws that were introduced by the Narendra Modi government earlier.
"I remember when I was fighting the farm laws, Arun Jaitley was sent to me to threaten me. He told me, 'If you carry on opposing the government, fighting the farm laws, we will have to act against you. ' I looked at him and said 'I don't think you have an idea who you are talking to,'" Rahul Gandhi said. (ANI)
