Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 18 (ANI): Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP, and said that they have not done even a single small work during their tenure.
Speaking to the media, Shivakumar emphasised that the state government is working to solve problems in North Bangalore and that a new metro line will be ready by next December.
"... By next December, another line (of metro) will also be operational. We have authorised BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) chairman Haris to take this responsibility. So we are working on it. We will see that this problem of North Bangalore will be solved. I am very transparent. For me, work should be done," he said.
He also challenged the BJP to show any work they have done or money brought from the central government for the city.
"That young MP was saying that we are doing the work for money, we do not need money. In their (BJP) tenure, they have not done even a single small work. Let them show one work. It is shameful that they have not brought a single rupee from the central government. Bangalore is a global city, the Prime Minister also agreed and accepted this," DK Shivakumar added.
Earlier on August 16, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister lashed out at the BJP, saying the party has no love for Dharmasthala but was only interested in exploiting the issue for political gains.
"The BJP did not say a word when the 'maskman' lodged a complaint, but now they are trying to play politics over it. They think that Hinduism is their private property and they need Dharmasthala only for political gains," he said while speaking to reporters at his Sadashiva Nagar residence.
When asked about the BJP's visit to Dharmasthala, he said, "Why did the BJP not say anything when the masked man lodged a complaint. Why did they not say anything when we formed the SIT? We are interested in protecting the honour of Dharmasthala; we don't want politics. The culprits must be punished." (ANI)
