Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 15 (ANI): After India registered a comprehensive 7-wicket victory against arch-rival Pakistan, Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying that the entire country erupted in joy and celebrated the win, but not a word from "Mohabbat ki Dukan".
"Yesterday, Bharat defeated Pakistan in the World Cup cricket. The entire country erupted in joy and celebrated the win. But not a word from "Mohabbat ki Dukan", Assam CM posted on X (Formerly Twitter).
India put Pakistan to bat and the visitors lost eight wickets for 36 runs as they collapsed from 155/2 to 191 all out before Rohit Sharma's outstanding 86 helped steer his team to victory.
Rohit Sharma led India's run chase with his flowing form as India team easily overcame the modest Pakistan total of 191 runs in the marquee World Cup match. India won by seven wickets.
Mohammed Siraj gave up early runs in the encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium, but he made a fine comeback.
He bagged his first wicket of the match as he dismissed Abdullah Shafique and then returned to the castle in well-established Babar Azam.
Five Indian bowlers were among the wickets, all taking two apiece, with Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav sparking the collapse with superb spells, after Mohammed Siraj had prised out the key wicket of Babar Azam. (ANI)
