New Delhi [India], January 17 (ANI): Reacting to the row over conducting Pran Pratishta even as the Ram Janambhoom Temple is under construction, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) International Working President, Alok Kumar on Wednesday said that there is no rule in Hindu religious rituals that God must be seated only after the completion of the temple.
"Under Hindu religious rituals, there is no rule that God has to be seated only after the completion of the temple. Once the 'Garbha Griha' is completed, God can be seated in the temple," Alok Kumar told ANI.
This comes after the some Political parties claimed that it was incorrect to carry out Pran Pratishta of an incomplete temple.
While speaking to ANI, the VHP Chief said, "I want to say two things. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Shri Ram Lalla is to take place on the ground floor, which has been completed."
"The second thing is that under Hindu religious rituals, there is no rule that God has to be seated only after the completion of the temple. Temples as large as the Ayodhya temple take long periods to complete" he said.
"Once the 'Garbha Griha' is completed, God can be seated in the temple," he said.
He also added saying, "Under the leadership of Jawahar Lal Nehru, the Cabinet of the Government of India had decided to reconstruct the Somnath Temple. When that temple's Garbha Griha was completed and the rest was under construction, the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of that temple was held under the then President Rajendra Prasad."
"You should remember what happened during Nehru's reign, what the President did, you should remember this, instead of these putting false allegations," he added.
Opposition parties, including the Congress, have claimed that some seers have decided against attending the January 22 event after objecting to the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at an 'incomplete temple'. (ANI)
