"No need to mix two things": NCP’s Jayant Patil defends Sharad Pawar meeting Adani

“There is no need for objection to it, it was just one project where Sharad Pawar went and inaugurated it. Sharad Pawar has always supported the decisions taken in meetings of the INDIA alliance and there is no need to mix two things," said Patil.

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], September 25 (ANI): In a clarification on Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar's meeting with Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad, NCP MLA Jayant Patil said that there is no need to mix up two different things.
“There is no need for objection to it, it was just one project where Sharad Pawar went and inaugurated it. Sharad Pawar has always supported the decisions taken in meetings of the INDIA alliance and there is no need to mix two things," said Patil.
Patil said there should be no controversy over it as keeping the invitation of Gautam Adani and the INDIA bloc are two separate things. He also said that the NCP chief has known Adani for a long time and that he invited Sharad Pawar for the event.

"All the discussions of the INDIA alliance are done by all the leaders where Sharad Pawar is also present... As far as the inauguration is concerned, Sharad Pawar knows him (Gautam Adani), and he invited him. It was the inauguration of a new investment,” said Jayant Patil.
Sharad Pawar and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Saturday inaugurated a Lactoferrin Plant in Ahmedabad’s Vasna.
Taking to X (former Twitter), Sharad Pawar said, "It was a privilege to inaugurate India’s first Lactoferrin Plant Exympower in Vasna, Chacharwadi, Gujarat along with Gautam Adani."
Earlier in April, Gautam Adani met NCP chief Pawar at his residence Silver Oak in Mumbai. NCP chief Sharad Pawar in a press conference in April also said that today names of businessmen and industrialists are taken to criticise the government.
"Nowadays names of Ambani-Adani are being taken (to criticise the government) but we need to think about their contribution to the country. I think other issues like unemployment, price rise, and farmers issues are more important," he said. (ANI)
