Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi [India], July 20 (ANI): Taking a stand against the Opposition's No-Confidence Motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Prime Minister requested all the members of the lower house of the Parliament to reject the motion and called it a "forced test by the Opposition."
"This was a trial to gain support to become Prime Minister. This is not a floor test of my government. This is a forced test by the opposition. Don't use No-Confidence Motion as an excuse. We are not here for selfish interests. We have served the nation with the Mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'," he said.
"After 30 years, the country has a government that has come with full majority. Give it time to do well. It is a good moment as we are getting the opportunity to speak. Today nation has seen the negativity expressed by some members. India saw how some people are so deeply opposed to development," the Prime Minister added.
Further mocking Rahul Gandhi for his gesture earlier in the day, he said, "In the morning, the voting was not over, the debate was also not over one member comes running to me saying- Utho Utho Utho...What is his hurry to come to power? Let me tell this member it is the people who elected us. That is how we have come here."
The Prime Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government with the "blessings of 125 crore Indians".
The No-Confidence Motion was moved by the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) over Andhra Pradesh Special Category status issue.
TDP leader Jayadev Galla began the Lok Sabha proceedings on Friday lashing out at BJP-led Centre. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah's regime is a saga of "empty promises". (ANI)
