New Delhi [India], March 12 (ANI): Sanjay Kumar Jha, National Working President, JDU, hit back at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his statement demanding the resignation of Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.
"...Nitish Kumar ji is the Chief Minister. He is running the government. Lok Sabha elections were held. Results were seen by everyone. By-elections were held, and you saw the results. It will be clear what will happen in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections," Jha told ANI on Wednesday.
"By seeing the conduct of that party (RJD) in power, Nitish Kumar dissociated himself from that party," he said, referring to the exit of Nitish Kumar from the alliance in 2024.
"They (RJD) know this alliance has no alternative," he said, referring to the BJP-JDU alliance in the Bihar. "Who has gone and joined their (RJD) party?"
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav questioned Nitish Kumar's ability to continue as the state's chief minister.
"... Nitish Kumar should resign himself... Even before Nitish Kumar, my father (Lalu Yadav) became MP... He could not have become CM without us giving the 'Samarthan Patra'... He should go to an ashram, as he is not capable of running the government... What is he doing with the future of 14 crore people?... Nitish Kumar's condition is not stable...," Yadav told reporters.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav also slammed CM Nitish Kumar for the collapse of law and order in the state, citing rising crimes, jail torture, and criminal activity across districts. He accuses Nitish of protecting criminals and failing to deliver justice.
Yadav asserted that crime has spiralled out of control under his leadership.
"You all must have observed that law and order in Bihar has completely collapsed. Criminals have become uncontrollable, and they are not just active at night," Yadav said. He highlighted incidents that have raised concern, including bomb blasts at major stores like Tanishq. "There are bomb blasts happening in big stores like Tanishq. Not just once, but three times, there have been robberies worth 25 crore rupees."
