NITI Aayog's Dr V K Paul to inaugurate 'one health' themed pavilion at India international trade fair

New Delhi [India], November 13 (ANI): Dr V K Paul, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog, is set to inaugurate the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's 'Health Pavilion' at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
The pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Health, centers on the theme of 'One Health,' which highlights the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant, and ecosystem health. This theme aims to raise awareness about the links between various forms of life and the environment, emphasizing how health challenges often require a collaborative response from multiple sectors and communities. "This year's pavilion is centered around the theme of 'One Health' - a comprehensive approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant, and ecosystem health. By recognizing these interdependencies, 'One Health' seeks to mobilize various sectors, disciplines, and communities to promote well-being and effectively address health and environmental challenges," read an official statement from the Ministry of Health.
The Health Pavilion will showcase the Ministry's achievements across 19 program divisions through 39 stalls, highlighting significant healthcare initiatives aimed at individuals at every stage of life. Featured programs include the newly launched U-WIN App, which facilitates free vaccinations for pregnant women and children, and the expanded Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), which now provides an additional Rs5 lakh in health coverage for senior citizens over the age of 70. This expanded coverage demonstrates the government's commitment to accessible and comprehensive healthcare for all.
The statement also mentioned that,"Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in screenings and counseling sessions for HIV, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The pavilion will also feature innovative installations like the BHISHM Cube, indigenous mobile hospital showcasing its design and utility in real-world settings." This installation allows visitors to observe how mobile hospitals are structured for healthcare delivery in remote or challenging environments.
A variety of engaging activities has been organized to make the pavilion both informative and enjoyable for all ages. Daily street plays, competitions, and interactive games will educate attendees on essential health topics. A dedicated Kids Zone will offer virtual reality games that blend fun with learning, allowing children to explore healthcare topics in an interactive, playful setting.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare views the pavilion as an opportunity to promote a deeper understanding of the 'One Health' approach. By addressing the connections between human, animal, and environmental health, the pavilion fosters a holistic view of health, emphasizing these interconnected elements. Running until November 27, the IITF's 43rd edition will welcome visitors from across India and internationally, providing a platform for the Ministry to share its vision for a healthier, interconnected future.
