Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 3 (ANI): A new complaint seeking probe and registration of a case for evidence tampering has been lodged against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others by one Pradeep Kumar, accusing him of destroying evidence related to 14 land sites in the MUDA case.
The CM's son Yathindra Siddaramaiah is also mentioned in the complaint.
In a letter dated October 2 to the ED, Pradeep Kumar claimed, "Siddaramaiah functioned as the Leader of the Opposition Party in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly between June 8, 2009 to May 12, 2013, and again between October 10, 2019 to May 20, 2023. Siddaramaiah was also the CM of Karnataka between May 13, 2013 to May 15, 2018. Along with Siddaramaiah his son Yathindra Siddaramaiah who had represented Varuna Constituency as Member of the Legislative Assembly between May 12, 2018 to May 13, 2023 has also committed grave offence misusing and abusing his public office for personal pecuniary gain of his parents namely Siddaramaiah and Parvathi Siddaramaiah."
He further said that he had made a complaint to the Governor, Karnataka about the illegal acquisition of 14 sites by Siddaramiah, contrary to the provisions of law.
"In the interregnum, Siddaramaiah using his Official position is tampering records and destroying evidence himself as well as by using officials of MUDA," the letter further said.
Earlier activist Snehamayi Krishna, who is a petitioner in the alleged MUDA scam, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bengaluru on Thursday. He said that there are thousands of crores of rupees involved in the MUDA case.
ED summoned him, asking him to produce all the documents and records pertaining to the alleged MUDA scam. This is regarding his email complaint to the ED against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Snehamayi Krishna said, "I came to appear before ED officers with some required documents like PAN card, Aadhaar card and others related to my family and my income background. I have given documents related to my complaint. Siddaramaiah's issue has been taken as one of the examples. There are thousands of crores of Rupees involved in the MUDA case. That's why I have asked for a thorough enquiry."
After the ED booked the Karnataka CM for money laundering in a case linked to the alleged MUDA land allotment scam, his wife wrote to the MUDA Commissioner, offering to surrender the 14 plots that were allotted to her by the authority.
The Mysuru Lokayukta officially initiated an inquiry and investigation into the case following a September 27 court order to file an FIR. The Lokayukta was directed to investigate allegations of illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, by MUDA.
It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife in the prime location of Mysuru city. (ANI)
