Patna (Bihar) [India], November 17 (ANI): After the Bihar Cabinet meeting held on Monday, Janata Dal (United) leader Ashok Choudhary said he believes the Cabinet has been dissolved and a new one will be formed soon, adding that there is "no vacancy for the Chief Minister's post".
Speaking to ANI, the JDU leader said, "We believe that the Cabinet has been dissolved today, all officials have been thanked, and a new Cabinet will be formed soon. "
Responding to whether Nitish Kumar will continue as Chief Minister or not, Choudhary replied, "We have been saying from day one that there is no vacancy for the Chief Minister's post."
Meanwhile, JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad praised the mandate given to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying, "The people of Bihar gave a huge mandate in favour of CM Nitish Kumar and PM Modi due to the development works carried out by the government. The lives of the public have been transformed, and they are now receiving the benefits of the double-engine government."

Earlier today, Nitish Kumar visited Raj Bhavan in Patna and met the Governor, a meeting seen as part of the transition process following the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) resounding victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections and the anticipated formation of the new government.
The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 were held in two phases, on November 6 and November 11. The counting of the votes was done on November 14, resulting in the NDA's victory in Bihar.
The ruling NDA got 202 seats, a three-fourths majority in the 243-member House. This is the second time the NDA has crossed the 200-mark in the assembly polls. In the 2010 polls, it had won 206 seats.
The BJP emerged as the single largest party, winning 89 seats. JD(U) won 85 seats, LJP (RV) won 19 seats, HAM (S) won 5 seats, and RLM won 4 seats. Mahagathbandhan got just 35 seats with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) winning 25 seats, Congress 6, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) - CPI(ML)(L) - two, Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) - one and Communist Party of India (Marxist) - CPI(M) one seat.
While All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won five seats and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got one seat. (ANI)
Moreover, on the statement of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya, JDU leader Ashok Choudhary said, "It is sad, it is painful when someone's family breaks apart."
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter, Rohini Acharya, has decided to quit politics and "disown" the family, accusing her brother, Tejashwi Yadav, and his close aides, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, for asking her to leave. She said that she was "humiliated, abuses were hurled, shoes were raised to kill her." (ANI)
