The Court noted that under Clause 2.3 of the NBEMS handbook, only candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate course are barred from admission to Sponsored Post MBBS DNB seats. Since the petitioner had already relinquished her previously allotted seat and was not pursuing any PG course, the Court observed that the clause prima facie appeared inapplicable to her case.

The meeting comes during the ongoing visit of the poll panel to review election preparedness in the state ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.

Speaking at an annual meet of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Hyderabad on Saturday, the minister said the government is focusing strongly on skill development to prepare the youth for emerging industrial opportunities.
