Ambala (Haryana) [India], May 19 (ANI): Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Monday praised the all-party delegation's efforts to showcase India's fight against terrorism and Operation Sindoor, highlighting Pakistan's attempts to spread lies.
Speaking to ANI, Vij emphasised the importance of informing the global community about India's strength and Pakistan's deceit.
Vij mentioned Pakistan's admission of damage to their airports, contrasting their earlier denials, as a testament to India's achievements.
"This is a very good effort. Pakistan spread lies. Their facts were found to be incorrect. They said none of their airports were destroyed, and now they have issued a tender to repair them. That is our achievement... It is necessary to tell the global community for them to know the real strength of India and the lies of Pakistan...," said Vij.
He criticised attempts to politicise Operation Sindoor, emphasising the need for unity in such matters and highlighted the BJP's Tiranga Yatra, where the party's name was not mentioned, to underscore the nationalistic spirit of the event.
"Not everyone is digesting this (Operation Sindoor)... It cannot be politicised. Yesterday we took out Tiranga Yatra. BJP's name was not used anywhere...," said Vij.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, targeting terror bases in Pakistan in retaliation for the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
The operation targeted terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating over 100 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh had earlier objected to the government including Congress MP Shashi Throoor out of four nominated by the party in the delegation formed to build international support for India's actions under Operation Sindoor.
The four names given by Congress did not include former union minister Shashi Tharoor, who will head one of delegations.
Jairam Ramesh criticised the government for omitting three of the names recommended by the party for the all-party delegation.
"This delegation is going for damage control. We have been saying that we need to stay united, and we are standing with our armed forces like a rock. We have said that Operation Sindoor is a historic operation, but PM Modi does not speak with the LoP or the Congress President. They ask us to give names. When we gave 4 names, they picked only one of them and added names on their own. What type of politics is this?" he asked.
The all-party delegations will project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations. They would carry forth to the world the country's strong message of zero tolerance against terrorism. (ANI)
